Rising very early in the morning, Bea and I made our way to Kingston Hospital for Bea's appointment with Mac The Knife. Strangely, nobody else had chosen Friday the 13th for a c-section - did they know something we didn't?

At 9:15 it all started - 15 minutes of paperwork, before getting to theatre at 9:30. A mere 13 minutes later, our little son appeared on the end of the strangest tow rope I've ever seen. "Take up slack", a quick snip and he was "All Out". Weighing in at 1.876 Kg (4 lbs to the older generation) he proved his lungs are in perfect working order by belting out his complaint about being woken far too early.

Bea is doing very well, but understandably is very sore. Hopefully she will return home on Tuesday 17th, but junior will have to stay in the high dependency unit for a while longer.

Before - is it going to hurt???
